Indian Tacos The first time we had them with this couple, I knew it was a winner. So does all of my family, which is amazing because there is always somebody who doesn't like what I have cooked. Ingredients of Indian Tacos

  1. It's of Base Ingredients.
  2. Prepare 2 lbs of ground beef.
  3. You need 1 lb of dry pintos.
  4. Prepare 2 packs of taco seasoning.
  5. Prepare of Water.
  6. You need 1 of large onion cut up.
  7. It's 1 can of green chiles.
  8. You need 1 of Tblsp chile powder.
  9. You need 1 of Tblsp cumin.
  10. Prepare 1 of Tblsp oregano.
  11. Prepare 1 tsp of garlic salt.
  12. Prepare 1 tsp of black pepper.
  13. It's 2 of bay leaves.
  14. You need 1 tsp of white sugar.
  15. Prepare of Other Toppings.
  16. You need of Lettuce chopped.
  17. You need of Tomato chopped.
  18. It's of Black olives sliced.
  19. You need of Colby Jack cheese grated.
  20. It's of Salsa.
  21. It's of Sour cream.

Make sure and be really careful when cooking the fry bread. I always eat it because it is sooooo goooood. Indian tacos AKA Navajo tacos are like tacos but made with Indian frybread (AKA Navajo frybread) in place of the tortilla. Indian Tacos instructions

  1. Sort thru and soak the dry pintos in water overnight.
  2. Brown the ground beef with the onion on medium heat and add the taco seasoning with the water and cook together for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Rinse and drain the soaked pintos then add them to the beef mixture with just a little water you want it to cook down eventually.
  4. Add the Chile powder, cumin, oregano, garlic salt, bay leaves, can of chile's and sugar. Cook it on low for about 2 hours stirring once in a while it will be done when the beans are soft.
  5. Chop, slice, grate and gather your toppings.
  6. Spread the beef and bean mixture on top of your fry bread Add the other toppings and ENJOY! ❤️❤️😋❤️❤️.

But I'd already made the taco toppings and was running out of time, so I went ahead and finished the tacos, planning to make a better batch of fry bread later..
